Slovak National Museum – The Museum of Ethnog, Martin

There are stable expositions oriented to documentation of the life of Slovaks in past, for example: The Man and Ground, the Kelts in Slovakia. Here is also very interesting exposition of folk costumes of all Slovak regions. Besides there are casual exhibitions ocasionally.

Slovak National Museum – Museum of Andrej Kmeť, Martin

This museum provides demonstrations of Andrej Kmeť original collections. It shows us nature and history of Turiec region, besides stable exposition Nature of Turiec there are also occasional exhibitions for chidren and adults, too.

Sloval National Museum - Museum of Martin Benka, Martin

This is the house where the famous Slovak painter, national artist, Martin Benka lived till his death in 1971, with all the things he used to use and with part of his work of art.

Slovak National Museum – Museum of Slovak Village (Skanzen), Martin

Skanzen in Martin is the biggest exposition of folk architecture in Slovakia. There are nearly 100 buildings of traditional folk building art from north-western part of Slovakia. During the season they organize so called Folk Sundays with programmes of folk groups, folk producers, artists, craftsmen, where demonstrations of traditional folklore and folk manufacture are shown.

Slovak National Literal Museum (the first Matica slovenská building), Martin

This institution is central literal museum in Slovakia, with exposition of the oldest Slovak literature.

Matica slovenská, Martin

Scientific and cultural institution of Slovaks living in Slovakia and abroad, too. There are more than 5 million books in the building, it is Slovak National Library

Turčianska Gallery, Martin

The building used to be district administration house in past. Nowadays stable exposition of Turiec fine art is here from Gothic era till th 20th century. The modern works of Martin Benka, Ludovít Fulla, Janko Alexy, M.A.Bazovský are here. The Gallery is the owner of Mikuláš Galanda works, who was the founder of modern Slovak painting.

Gallery of Mikuláš Galanda, Turčianske Teplice

This is the native house of modern painter Mikuláš Galanda. The base of this gallery was documental and painting heritage of the artist, which was the gift of painter´s wife Mária Galandová.

Museum of Karol Plicka, Blatnica

This is the exposition of the life and work of this important photographer. Karol Plicka devoted her life, films and photographs to documentation of Slovak folk culture.

Mansion Diviaky

Renaissance mansiom was built in the 17th century in Diviaky (part of Turčianske Teplice). Its last owner was count Pongrác. Nowadays it is used by Matica slovenská as deposit place of Slovak National Library.
